Auto to ax15 swap

So I bought an ax15 (minus bell housing) trans from eBay pretty cheap, but it needs to be rebuilt. No biggie for me. But the tag supposedly comes up to a 97-99 TJ. Now from what I know, which isn't much, an ax15 is an ax15... correct? Minus the internal/external. I already have a bellhousing for external on order and came across the write up to convert it of need be. But here is my questions.
1. Do I just go with a YJ clutch pedal assembly?
2. And when ordering the cmc, csc, clutch assembly ect, would it be for a TJ?

Or does it even matter matter for the second question? Thanks in advance!

You need a YJ clutch and brake pedals assembly. A new flywheel, new starter, and you said you were going with an external slave bell housing. A clutch master cylinder for a YJ but yet a flex clutch line for a TJ (because of the external slave).

My AX15 came out of a 97 TJ. What I had to do is get a clutch kit for a 97 TJ, and then get a pilotshaft bushing for a mid 80's 304 V8. The nose of the input shaft is .750" on the newer AX15. Advance Adapters has the bushing you will need. As well as the flex line to hook up an external slave.

Hey I appreciate the response! So far all I have is the clutch pedal assembly and the bell housing. What about linkage or rods for the pedals? Stuff like that. The assembly that I have is just came with the bracket and pedals.

The linkage rods for the pedals are on the clutch master cylinder and the brake master cylinder. So you don't have to worry about getting the rods.

No, the starter will be for your motor just with a manual trans. The one that you have may work, but I have seen cases where a starter for an auto has a different gear on the end of it, because of the different ring gear on the flex plate versus the ring gear on a flywheel.

One other question. Is there a difference in length of drive shafts?

Yes, you will need new drive shafts most likely. The auto is longer than the AX15 so your rear is going to be short, and the front will be long. The front might be ok because of the lift you have, but the rear will most likely need to be changed out.
