I have an 87 YJ, 4.2L, 5spd. The carburetor was recently replaced by a previous owner...he replaced with it with the carter....I know I know. When I put the pedal to the floor before starting, the choke does not click on.
I have to manually push it down from under the hood. And If I play with the throttle cable, the choke clicks off when the engine is not running.
However, if I manually click the choke on, start the jeep and let it warm up, the choke never comes off. I have to let it cool down then pull the throttle cable to take it off choke.
Any ideas? Sounds like something was installed backwards.
