I did mine a few months ago but already forgot what brand it was. Get yourself one of those cheap hand pumps cuz that ax-5 has the refill hole in a tight spot

Synchromesh. 75/90 simply does not work well for me and this in two different tranmissions, (AX-5). Synchromesh will make you feel like you have a different transmission in, and it really smooths out your shifting.
I haven't tried MT90, but I've heard nothing but good things about it. If it were easier to get, I would have tried it, too. Synchromesh is about 7 bucks a quart and can be purchased locally.

Synchromesh appears to be thinner but it will make your trans shift like butter!

Thats awesome to hear guys. The 80w90 in it seems thick. I tried Orielys for the Penz and they dont stock it anymore.. Im on the hunt.

Regular 08-90 weight gear oil will burn up your syncros. I want to say standard 80-90 is a GL5 and your AX5 calls for a GL4 which is what synchromesh is because of the brass bushings and syncros

Pennzoil Syncoromesh is it in now!! Drained the 80w90 and it was a tad sparkely
Went to the gas station and can already notice a smoother ride in low gears and great shifting. I need maybe 1/2 qt more (calls for 3.3)might of spilled a lil.. but they only had 3qts.. (Advance Auto) thanks for that tip!
Ill keep an update going on the fluid change, thanks again EVERYONE for your info and advice!
Happy Jeepin'

Just an update, the Syncromesh is still by far AMAZING! 1st and 2nd feel better than ever again and the rest are perfect. Smoother than silk shifting and driving. Even torque braking is smoother. Now to decide on diff fluids and transfer case. Thanks everyone for your help.

Nooooooo.Just the manual trans. Some form of ATF goes in the transfer case. im not sure what kind or brand but i may go with a high mileage ATF such as Valvoline Maxlife.
