axle swap

i wanted to know if it was possible to swap the front and rear axles from a tj to a yj

i think so. i think they both have the d35 rear/ d30 front. someone else will have to verify this for me, but i think so. and i think the rubi's have the d44 rear

the only thing i can think of that would need to be modified is the front d30 axle since on the tj's they have coil springs and not leaf springs like the yj. You would probably need to do something about that...

You will need to cut off the stock TJ coil spring mounts off of both the D30 and D35 and weld on some leaf spring perches front and rear.

this is a good time to soa alright, spring over axle, they are off and it makes no sense why you wouldn't go on ahead with it...so good luck and at least consider it...THE AXLES ARE OFF THE JEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!

The HP D30 front of a YJ is more desirable than the D30 of the TJ. Better clearance, I have pulled a few out of deep ruts and the only snag that got them was the lower pumpkin.
