ba10 out ax15 in need advice

I removed the BA10 transmission from my 88 wrangler and installed a newly rebuilt AX15. It has been installed and it works great.

BUT, the new tranny stick and transfer stick are now positioned further back than the original shifter position and the boot doesn't fit anymore. Since I am unable install the shifter boots, it gets pretty chilly inside the Jeep.

I am considering looking for one shifter boot for the 4WD and a seperate shifter boot for the tranny stick. As you may know, the stock setup is two boots that are joined at the bottom. Any suggestions?

thanks
Bruno

Why don't you look for a shifter boot from a newer Jeep. Say one that the AX15 came in. That should fit it.

I have not been able to get my hands on a newer one to see it it will work, but that is an idea. Does the YJ with the BA10 tranny have the same floor plate as the YJ with the AX15? If so, that solves my problem I think.

I'm not sure about that question.
