Howdy everyone. I apologize to come up with a post that is late by several months. I hope you understnad. Just got off the phone with the dealer and they are replacing all 4 ball joints (driver and passenger, upper and lower). I have 33,500 miles on my unlimited JK. I had my lift and 35s installed yesterday by 4 Wheel Parts in Raleigh, NC (they rock, BTW). While installing the lift, they noticed the driver-side upper ball joint was bad. It had about 1/8-1/4" of play in it. The 4 Wheel Parts' general manager asked me how to proceed and I told them to finish with the lift and tires and that I would call the dealer and tell them about the bad ball joint and try to resolve it through a warranty claim. I called the dealer shortly afterwards and told them everything above and dropped off my Jeep this morning at the dealer. They come up with the return and gave back the amount i paid for. Few days later, i decided to do it on my own rather than to pay someone for the job.As you know, we all want to save money. I never thought the task was that easy. Got the video from this domain: http://www.automd.com/how-to/replace-a-ball-joint-video_7602/
and follow all the steps. but before that, i checked out the junkyard for some used ball joints. Man, i saved almost half of the total expenses.that's the great thing about DIY guides!
