BDS suspension lift

I'm fixing to buy a 2" bds lift and was wandering if anybody on here has this lift and what size tires are you running.

BDS Suspension is the name of a company that makes lift kits.

I just got done installing my 1" shackle lift that I made so if I go with the 2" lift I'll end up with 3" total. Will that be enough to clear 33" tires.

Do they still make the 2" lifts? The last time
I looked they were in the 3.5" range for YJ's, I'm really interested in something smaller than that though.

You might rub a bit with just 3" total lift, unless you have a 1" body lift and non-stock flares. I wouldn't get the 33x12.5's, stick with the 10.5's, you can always get the BL and better clearance flares latter though if you start to rub. What made you decide on a small lift with 33's are you trying to keep it Low-COG?

Yep they still have the 2". I have been going back and forth between the 2"&3 1/2" and I still really haven't made up my mind yet. If I go with the 3 1/2" I'm gona put 34" tires on and that's gona lead to gears 8.8 swap sye more money for every thing. If I go with the 2" I'm sure 32" tires will fit and throw in a couple lunch box lockers and wheel the hell out of it.

I'm definitely buying BDS when I decide to get a lift, just not sure on what size yet though, I already have 32"s on with no rubbing, so I'm leaning toward the 2" lift, but the 3.5" might be nice too for future tire sizes. Definitely keep us updated when you do the install, I'm really interested to see the difference. I know extended shackles are required for BDS springs, you said you have 1" shackles on, but do you think the 1/2" shackles would clear the BDS military wrap?

i installed a 2 inch BDS lift and 5/8 inch MORE boom shackles. i love the lift and the quality, you cant beat it. i run 31s and it looks perfect. you should be able to get 33s but you might get some rub on the flares. when you first put it on it will close to 3.5 inch of lift, it takes a couple weeks to settle down. i also had stock shackles on with the kit for a week or 2 before i got the boom shackles and there is just enough clearance for the military wrap springs, just dont go offroading until you get better shackles.

do yourself a favor and buy a set of rough country Spring Bolt set of 8. the BDS kit doesnt come with them.

I have decided to go with the 2" and use the money I save in deference of the two kits, sye, and driveshaft and put towards lockers for front and rear axles. Ill just go with the biggest tires that will fit without any major rubbing and call it good.

BDS originally stood for "Big Dick's Systems".

Now they just go by BDS. Reckon' its a little too politically incorrect now days.

I got the 3.5" kit with steering stabilizer/boots/heavy springs. Nets out to 4.5" lift, but initially it was about 5.5" till the springs were broken in.

Going with the 3.5" kit will also involve an SYE and new drive shaft. Had mine installed by the local dealer, which was a smart move since they wound up having to cut the old suspension off.

Be ready for a serious hit to the Bank account if you want to do it right.
