been out for awhile...

well, an update on my finished chvy conversion. i have been driving it daily for about three months, and have NOT been without speed bumps. when i first finnished the build my new mallory ignition box was a turd. would'nt keep a pulse...garbage. then my coil melted down, fragged my button attached between the coil and the rotor. fixed it, then the modulator went....distributor(mallory)....garbage. THEN, my altinator diodes crapped out...garbage. all these parts where purchased at jegs. there service is great, but i think there parts are crap. i had a ansi cert dealership mechanic (chevrolet) run all my wires and they all check out. has anyone ever herd of this many problems? wtf?anyway all my parts are replaced (free) and im rolling again but i've tallyed 7 tows to date... oh, my holley fuel pump also melted down and almost caught FIRE!!!------wow.

Never used mallory, always msd and never had a problem. Did have a holley blue pump on my old elcamino and that did crap out as well. ended up using a mitsubishi pump that ran for years.

yeah, i told myself no casino till this rain cloud blows away. i mapped this motorand trans build way before i started, and carefully picked parts staying about middle road of cost/ quality. but for sure my nxt project just gonna have a junk yard motor and fix as i break...this is ridiculious.

It really sucks cause mallory is supposed to be top quality parts. normal people would think you buy quality and it should be trouble free longer than stock. good that jegs took care of it all but still doesnt make up for getting towed home so many times.
