Hey everyone, my last issue before this heap is back to full strength, whoever installed the lift seems to have messed up because the spring mounts for the front spring are cracked and bent inwards. Seems to me like everything is misaligned. What are my options? And also why would this be happening?
I would think trackbar or sway bar removal would cause this.In the front I believe trackbar is what locates the axle and suspension under vehicle and rear sway bar does the same
probably caused by heavy impact ... somebody jumped it!
Track bar removal alone would not do this.
I would say some major frame re-inforcing / structure support would be in order ... do you know a welder?
Thanks for the help. Anyone have a name for the part I need to replace? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Also does anyone make a superior one? I don't want this getting bent
When I did a front axle swap I outboarded the front leafs & made my own spring hangers. It's super duper easy.
I started with a couple cardboard templates, cut up some 3/16" plate with a cutoff wheel with a hand grinder or used my plasma cutter, drilled holes, fit things up, then welded it together. Very easy stuff.
I do not know the proper name, I would call it a spring hanger. I don't think you need any heaver than OEM unless your the one that's been jumping it or hitting Ditches Real Hard at an angle. Or maybe a roll over and changed the Tub, but not fixed the frame. JMO and you ask.
No I've not been jumping it haha. I just bought it and I'm fixing all the damage this guy did. Just had to replace the goddamned internal slave cylinder...
