Blower Motor Resistor Problem

My 95 Sahara heats up great in the winter- lined Hard Top and full doors. But the Blower motor is a High Speed or No-Speed deal.

After searching here, I figured the problem was the Blower Resistor. So I replaced it and I had all three speeds of the Blower Motor. Great!

Problem is, I only had all three speeds for about an hour, and then back to High Speed or No-Speed. What would kill the Resistor so fast? Could they have given me the wrong part? ( The new Resistor was only $5 from the dealer, but everyone here suggested it would be about $20.) The screws holes were a little off and the part number was different than the old one.

Any Ideas? Could something be frying my resistors?

Thanks for any help

Ed

possibly wrong or bad part. it shouldn't have been different. i have seen a couple instances where blower motors would fry resistors. also shorts, or poor grounds.

I'll check the wires for breaks/shorts.

Is there a way of checking the part number? The new one is #55035958.
