blown head gasket?

coming home from work Monday both my radiator hoses sprung leaks. it overheated until it shut off. i put new hoses on it after it cooled down and everything was fine. on wed it started running rough and pinging and now its overheating pretty easily. theres no water in the oil but when i crank it it blows out white smoke. what yall think?

Sounds like you may have cracked a head or blown the gasket..not meaning to be a smarta$$ but running your engine hot to the point of it shutting down wasn't the smartest thing to do...

I'm a newbie here, but ran a automotive machine shop for 10 yrs. plus wrenching.Yes a posted before cracked head,or warped these 6's or any 6 turn into banana's.Definite head removal and head sent out to be checked.Your head could possibly be reused after rebuild.

i didnt know it was overheating until it started running rough and then i just tried to pull off the road and it shut off. the temp gauge is apparently messed up because it didnt show it being hot. its losing coolant but its not leaking anywhere i can see or dripping anywhere. thats why im hoping its a gasket because of the white smoke and internal coolant loss.and it ran fine for a day or two then this. if the head is cracked i guess its a good time to do the 4.0 head swap ive been wanting to do.
