Body mount/lift

I need a favor from a fellow YJ owner. I am missing 2 body mount bushings and bolts on my YJ. 1 on each side of the frame right behind the front seats. Could explain why my doors are a bitch to shut. Can't believe i never noticed in the month i've owned it. After looking up a body mount kit, I noticed they look smaller than the ones on my jeep.

So...for any YJ owner with the factory body mounts...what does it measure from body mount perch, to the floor pan?

That way I now what its supposed to be, so if i'm over it i can make sure i get an adequate kit as not to lose any lift i have.

And reguardless of my mounts, Whats a good body lift that doesn't make the YJ look stupid? I see alot of people use 1" and some use 3". I guess a pic of a YJ with a 1" and a pic of a YJ with a 3" would be nice to help me decide.

and also, will I have to buy a replacement body mount set, then the Body lift? or does the body mounts get replaced with the body lift?

not sure about the stock measurement, but you can buy a new body mount set from prothane for about $60 from ebay, then add a body lift around 1-1.5" for around $90-100 (you could go upto 3 if you realy wanted, but most dont recomend it)

OR you could buy a set of body lift bushing from prothane for around $150 that is basically the two (body mounts and lift pucks) in one.

I looked into prothane, and i'm amazed at the instructions. They made it so easy, my daughter could do it. and most importantly, they include EVERYTHING. I WILL definitely purchase this ASAP to fix my problem. I compared it to a Performance Accessories body lift, and The PA brand didn't come with the body mounts i need, instructions were pictureless, and had a ton of random brackets,..i had no clue what they were for.

Prothane 1113 - Body Lift Kit - 1 Inch. 1113

My YJ has an electric radiator fan, So I won't have to relocate my radiator or anything right?

with a 1" lift you shouldnt need to. If you do you can trim a little plastic of the shroud so nothing makes contact.

you'll need to make sure your radiator hoses are long enough with the radiator going up, if you have electric fans and no mechanical fan anymore, whatever shroud is there shouldn't contact any part of the motor....your only worry will be the hoses, and if its automatic the cooling lines

I just installed the Prothane 1" body mount/lift. Great kit. Comes with replacement sleeves and everything you need. Just make sure you soak the stock bolts in PB blaster for about a week or two ahead of time!
