Body work and paint

So I have procrastinated all summer about fixing some body rot on my YJ and the other day I said the hell with it and started in, sanding bondo sanding bondo feathering ect ect , must say for the first time at this type of stuff I am pleased with the results, rough sanded the entire tub and was looking at it and decided to go from white to a flat black to better hide imperfections, primed it then sanded again then shot flat black, My question is shld I do a clearrcoat on it? would it make it look funky on flat black?, .

a low gloss clear will look ok. most flat paint doesn't seal and needs to be top coated.

exactly right..paint has talc added to make it flat which in turn makes in porous, softer and very easy to scratch
