body work, please advise

i'll get some pics up of my rust problem I want to fix this winter while the jeep is down. but basically its on the tub drivers side, down and just in front of the drivers door. on the inside of the tub its where the "C" shaped "tower" that re-enforces the tub front where the door mounts. so I cant weld metal from the inside patching the hole, then bondo it flush on the outside. so how should I go about fixing this? I have a crappy flux core welder. im descent w/ it. but im afraid of burn through w/ it. I need the repair to last 3-5 years when i'll replace the tub. any tricks? any good polymers that can "get'r'done"? i'll be putting rocker sliders on it so it will be hidden, I just dont want it to get worse. And also, does the CJ7 tub match the YJ tub dimensions? cuz I cant find an aluminum tub for a YJ anywhere....?
