bout to go parts crazy

Getting back to building on my jeep. I need a hard top and full doors or just fix my current hard top. Which then I need side window seals and upper doors or full doors. Ive looked and getting frustrated. Still learning.

I would fix the hardtop. There aren't many for sale in perfect condition, and if there is you will defiantly pay for it. Fix the seals and give her a fresh coat of paint, it will be cheaper in the long run. Doors are a bit harder to deal with. Good luck finding a pair in good condition that will match your color. Best advice I can give is find a pair of doors with little to no rust (make sure there is zero rust on the window pillars). Do the body work yourself. Then you can either paint it or have it painted by a shop. Soft door uppers are easier to find. But if your looking to run a hard top for security purposes it makes no sense to have a soft door. It depends on what you want to do.

As far as side window seals are concerned on a YJ hard top, the rubber trim that is around the outside of the window has absolutely nothing to do with the window leaking.

The window is glued in, and the rubber trim is basically just what it is, trim. It is not any kind of a seal.

cj7 doors do work. I have them and a cj7 hard top on my 95 yj with minor mods of course. yj hardtops are like a needle in a haystack around Indiana

Great deal today with nubby55. Now im in search of full doors, hard uppers or modified soft uppers to fit my hardtop. Not sure if I want to try and modify them myself.

My advice for full doors would be this:
If you have fresh yellow paint on your jeep try and find yellow hard doors that way if you need to color match the yellow on the doors to the yellow of your jeep you can without respraying the whole door, just the outside. That way the inside of the door will be yellow and look correct.
If you dont care, dont have fresh paint, or your jeep is rattle canned you can buy any cj7/yj doors and rattle can them yellow.

Matt.
