Exclamation broken bolts on axle

has anyone ever snapped all four bolts on the rear axle the hold the u joint i snapped all four and was wondering if its possable to drill and coil it and if theres a stronger alternative

I'm guessing you are talking about the pinion?
Ez out the broken bolts and drill out the threads. I'm not sure which one it is but you can then do away with the straps and put in the u bolts on the pinion. It's also a cheap upgrade.

and to answer your question, no I have not. I have the ford 8.8 with a flange! (super awesome)

does anyone know the length and diamiter of the bolt i cant check being as they exploded when it broke the jeep was at 4500 rpm

Don't use a ez out they are crap. If all 4 bolts snaped then the ez out will probally snap too. Then you will need to drill out hardened steel.

I snapped mine so I just ordered a new pinion instead of trying a easyout. it was only like $25 from quadratec and was a quick install.

If you drilled it out, why not just use the strap style u-bolts to connect the two? It's stronger, and since there aren't threads on there anymore, it should be any easy to swap to the new style.

actually i got real lucky and all the bolts came right out i just finished fixing it but im prolly gunna upgrade to the ubolt style cuz this isnt cuttin it

I shattered mine awhile back, I got a teraflex u-bolt style yoke. Still working great after going through five different drive shafts.

Happened to my buddy

Hey I Snapped My Buddies After tryin to start it in gear an all i did is reem the holes out. Then i went to the parts store an got those helper u joint driveshaft u bolts an put them in an he has been wheelin it ever since wit no problem

i just got my rustys u bolt yoke on today ima test it at hollister tomarrow ill let u all kno how it works
