Can't Decide What Size Tires/Wheels

Less than a week ago I bought a '91 YJ. It came with a 3.5" Black Diamond lift kit and 2" shackle lift. It has 235/75-15 BFG AT's which my wife says look too wimpy and have to go. They still have half the tread left.

I can't decide what size tires and width wheels to go with. Kinda thinking 31 or 33's that are 10 - 12" wide on 8-10" wide wheels. Is there some kind of general ration for tire width and rim width?

With all that lift would 31's be too small?

Help!

31's would look wimpy still. Make your wife happy and get 33's mounted on a 15x8 wheel.

A common size would be a 33/12.5/15 on a 15x8 wheel. That's what my Jeep came with when I bought it. Lots of tires in that size and lots of wheels to choose from. Make sure you get wheels with proper backspacing.

I'd say go 33s or 35s. I have 35's on mine and I love it.

I like the look of 33-10.5-15 on 15x7

With all that lift and only 80" of overhead door clearance 35's would be too big to fit the YJ in the garage with the soft top on.

Plus the price per tire seems to go up exponentially with size.

35's would only make your overall heigth 1 inch more than 33's but 33's would work..take the longass shackles off and 31's would work..8 inch wheels is what is recommended especially if you plan to offroad with very low pressure. But,just for looks I like the wide, hang out the side look of 10 inch wheels.I run 33's on 8 inch wheels on one of my yj's with a spring over which is about 6 inches lift.It works great but as far as looks goes,a 35 would probably look better..my wife runs 31's on 10 inch wheels on her yj with a 3 inch lift.they look perfect and have a wide stance that to us looks badass

I have an 88 police special electra glide that I have owned about 17 years. It is my old standby but I have been building custom harleys for over 30 years so we usually have some customs also.My wife is currently riding a trike chopper that we built. So far it has won every show she has entered it in.....
