I found a Motorcraft 2bbl. carb D2GF BAw/ the adapter plate. They say it was used on 258CI 6 cyl.
They mentioned they repaired a small casting flaw w epoxy years ago. Has not been run in approx 3 yrs

Should I stay away from the it or is it worth a shot at buying it? Whats it worth?

what are they asking to get for it? If you search ebay for motor craft 2100 you should come across a guy on there that sells kits for the 258. My dad had bought one from him when we first got our yj and it was a big improvement of the carter. And you don't have to go with a motor craft either. Weber has several different carbs that are great for swap ins too. I have the Weber 32/36 on my yj and its real nice

If you got to a salvage yard that has old enough vehicles in order to find one, they sell for $25 all day.

It would depend on where the epoxy was placed. If its on a mounting face or flange, then I would pass on it.

Thanks guys. I saw it in a local auto ad. They want $50 and I dont think they know its online as well? I text them & I asked for pics but didnt get a response back on it. Just that there was a "Repaired small casting flaw w epoxy years ago. Has not been run in approx 3 yrs"
Been trying to text him every now and then to see if I can get an answer but so far nothing.
What is the number for the weber 32/36? DGV?DFAV F73AIK?

I personally have run both carbs, the MC and the Weber. And in my opinion the MC 2150 is a much better carb than the Weber. Its a little larger, and it is designed to be used with motors up to and including small block V8's. Very versatile.

X2, also is a much simpler design that Ford used from 57 to 83 so that can attest to the dependability. The 1.08 venturi was used from 6cyl to small blocks v8's, the 1.21 venturi handled big blocks up to the 400ci engine ford used until late 70's. Then came the variable venturi carb which in my opinion is in the top 5 worst carburetors ever made.
