Carpet removal

Just bought a great 89 Jeep to play with and one of the first things I want to do is remove the carpet. It's a shame because the last owner just had it replaced. It in great shape, but I would rather have a more durable floor than one that will promote rust.
The carpet is glued down, EVERYWHERE!! Anyone have any tips on removing the glue? Here's the kicker. The guy painted the floor with Rhinoliner(?) or some other similar product before laying the carpet. Why? I do not know. But if I could salvage the paint job, all the better.

A heat gun to loosen the glue, and cut it in various places to take out parts of the carpet. It will make it a little easier.

You are going to be left with one sticky mess. Sure it's glued all over and not just the perimeter?

I'm pretty sure it's all over. I had to pull it up some to fine the holes for the back seat (take family for quick spin) and it was a nightmare pulling it up just to find the holes. So, I'm fearing the worse. I'll dig a little deeper when the weather warms up some, just wanted to be prepared. I thought of getting a few cans of brake cleaner and a tone of rags to get the glue up. But may take paint with it.

I recently Monstalined my tub and had to do a lot of glue removal. Goof Off and elbow grease took care of the glue. You'll want to get the big can. If you click the link you can see some before and after pics. http://www.wranglerforum.com/f8/mons...on-197199.html

AAAHHH, Goof Off! I didn't think of that. Thank you!
A big can of Goof Off, a case of beer and a few invites to the neighbors should make quick work of it.
