Red face Center console

Well I had some time today before bringing my 89yj back to the shop to fix oil pan gasket leak.I've been following the monstalining thread and decided to start taking things out of the interior.I actually succeeded in getting the passenger seat out.You would know how good this feels if you saw the amount of rust the bolts have.2 weeks of PB and heat and determination.Got to the center console and I cant find any screws, bolts nothing on the inside.I got the 4 screws that hod the rear down but it feels like there is something toward the front holding it in place.I got the cup holders out and cant see or feel anything on the inside of the console. What am I missing???

Mine had 4 screws when I pulled it. 2 in the very back, 2 more further up. It was a 95.

Pull the cup holders or asnything in the front and there should be some fasteners in there. Maybe on the front there is a door to hold sunglasses but it should be straight in fron the top somehow.

That could be it jokerchief, I didn't pull the coin holder out.Hopefully I get my Little Red back tomorrow with no oil leaks and I can pull the coin holder out.I found it funny that an 89 jeep would come with a coin holder!! Thanks for the help all!!!

If you have the fold out sunglasses holder gently pop it out and you should see a couple sheet metal screws holding the front in place. I found that out after I "ripped" mine out and tore the whole bottom up. It wasn't an accident, I already had a new console to put in and the old one was junk, but I will admit I couldn't find the hidden screws either and got frustrated and just yanked it out.

Well Little Red is tucked in the garage with a new piece of cardboard under her, so we'll see in the morning if the leak is sealed. Also the sunglass holder is the culprit, I got it out and low and behold there are the screws!!!Thanks for the heads up lincoln33!!I have to admit I had the pry bar at the ready if something didn't give!!Thanks for all the input on this everyone!!
