changed 93 fuel pump ,wont start!!

couple days ago i ran some sea foam through system , at the end of that tank pump started howling, then yesterday no start, changed the filter and it started but only when i held pedal to floor and check engine light came on, but it ran ,went ahead changed plugs cap & rotor and wires drove it about 20 miles and it started sputtering at full throttle, changed fuel pump and screen, tank looked pretty clean, its plastic, screen was really gummed up put it all back together now it wont start ! cranked it for about 20 minutes till battery died, can it take longer to build pressure? i put about 7 gal gas in from a can which was fun, i can hear pump prime when i turn key, any advice will be helpful, im on a slow charge now was gonna try cranking it tomorrow for awhile

Sorry just re read that...I need more coffee.....break the line at the intake and let it prime, until fuel comes out. Sounds like the line could be vaporlocked.

Also check your wires to make sure the are seated properly on both plugs and cap. Did you use any dielectric grease? Are your new plug wires secure? Are they as far clear of the alternator as possible? These things could cause a sputter at higher rpm.

Kind of, really once you hear the pump prime itself you should have steady enough pressure to read, sometimes you have to trick the motor to prime more then once by flipping the key back and forth. Good luck.

Sorry I meant to say use the bleedoff vavle after you prime it up, make sure there is no air traped it the line....

One more thing, check the flow of the filter. I've put them in backwards before...

It might not hurt to do a little dance to scare off the gremlins.

Yeah sounds like a line got pinched or blocked, unfortunately sounds like you need to drop the tank once again.

So all of your problems started when you ran the Seafoam? Did you run the tank to empty before the pump howled? I think the gummed up plastic screen might give a hint if any of that reached your injector system.
