Check engine light when putting in new gauges

I just installed a 3pc cluster to the bottom of my day with all mechanical temp and oil pressure, they work great! the originals where either broken or missing so I just took the afternoon to put in this kit, ok and works great. The first thing I notice though now is that my check engine light when on, now when it came to the original senders I kept them but I simply unplugged them taped them up and ziptied them, out of the way and safe. Im just guessing that the computer is getting a gauge error and that is giving me the light. is there a way to turn off this bugger, right now I just put a piece of black tape over the light. any thoughts are great!

Have you tried using one of those things that read computer errors and deletes them?
