cj 7 hardtop on yj with softop--help please

i know i read on here that a cj7 hardtop will fit on my 92 yj,
does it clamp on or what needs to be changed for it to work ..
i have a guy that may want to trade his cj7 hardtop for my yj softop
i read that you need to lift the back glass then open tailgate ..

is there anything else i need to know, any and all help would be helpful and appreciated..

anyone have pics. they could show me..

thanks again..in advance..

I had a cj hard top but it didn't fit right and waws a big pain in the but so I sold it and am waitting till I find a yj hard top, a cj top will fit a yj. The main prob I had with mine was that I couldn't open the hatch or tail gate with a spare tire on it, it was in the way. It may have just ben the top I had I've heard of other people that didn't have to much prob with it, I would see if he would let u put the hard top on to see how it would work b4 u make a final decision, better safe then sorry...

I have a cj7 hardtop and doors on my 95 yj. It fits fine. You do have to close the tailgate, then the glass, then your tire carrier if you have one. You might have to adjust the doors to latch correctly but that's about it.
