clutch issues

hello everyone i have got a 95 yj 6cyl 5speed tranny
the problem is under load it sounds like the clutch is slipping but the rpm's dont move. and it looses power

it actually sounds like the waste gate on a turbo diesel opening

i thought it was the clutch so i replaced the clutch last night took it for a spin this morning and the noise came right back

would it be the slave cylinder keeping the throwout bearing in contact with everything

i have a new slave cylinder coming it will be here tomorrow

thanks for the help

Just a thought, but it may not be a clutch issue. It may be that your catalytic converter is plugged up.

If the cat is plugged it usually has enough flow for low load conditions when the engine isn't working very hard and pushing much exhaust through(in lower gears/lower speeds), but as engine load increases it starts to restrict exhaust flow to the point that the engine can't expel exhaust gases to make room for a fresh intake charge.
