Need some help diagnosing my broken Jeep.
The clutch in my 93 2.5L Wrangler started engaging closer and closer to the floor tonight, and it was tough to shift into gear. It made a grinding noise when I tried to shift it in reverse. As soon as I made it home, steam started coming up from the hood, and a lot of fluid came pouring out and looked to have sprayed all over. The engine temp wasn't too high, and the fluid was oily, but not any distinct color.
I'm guessing a hose broke and the hydraulic fluid poured out. Is there enough hydraulic fluid to fit the description? Did I damage the master or slave cylinder by trying to put it in gear? How much cash can I expect to be out on this (at a shop or if I fix it myself)?
