control module

my 4.2 had a control module....does the 4.0?....if so where is it located...if not what replaced the cm?

I am going to assume by the 4.2 CM you mean the ignition control under the water bottle on the drivers side?
In the 4.0 all the ignition duties are handled by the ECM ( the main computer) which in the 4.0 actual works, unlike the 4.2 computer install behind the glove box. HTH
