Crack in the frame of 93 YJ

I'm am going to buy another 93 YJ Jeep maybe this weekend off of a friend. I noticed last night while I was over there that directly in front of the drivers front wheel on the frame there is a crack that extends about 60% of the width of the frame. It is so weird looking it appears that someone has taken a laser and made a straight line cut from the bottom of the frame towards the top. My question is, can I just roll this baby into my garage and remove the wheel and get in there and take my time cleaning and wleding it slowly (so it wont warp) or is this something that I will need to plate. I believe after cleaning it up it is stright crack and is very easy to get to. What say you??? Anyone had an ordeal like this???

I would clean it up grind a groove in the crack so you get good penetration and weld it in. Then grind it smooth. After that I'd weld plates on all 4 sides about 4-6 inches long.
