Creaking sound in 1st and 2nd gear when turning from stop

My 93 is making a pretty loud creaking sound when starting off in 1st gear and sometimes carrying over into 2nd. I was going to call it a shutter or rattle, but after listening more closely it is more like a creak, like a huge old creaky door. It only does it hot, after driving for at least 15 minutes. And, it only does it when turning and starting from a dead stop or accelerating in 1st or 2nd from very low speed (like when turning left or right from a stop light). It does not do it if going straight from a stop.

My inclination is a clutch or flywheel issue, but the fact that it only does it in a turn has me confused. The sound comes from the back. Any ideas?

Sounds as if something get hot, then might be flexing as you turn and making the sound.. is the t-case skid loose at all?

I don't think the Transfer Case skid is loose. The transfer case was pulled and re-installed for a different problem, but this sound was there before and after that. So, I don't imagine that the t-case skid was loose before and then still loose after it was reinstalled.

I do see the reasoning behind that, though. If it was a clutch problem it wouldn't do it only in a turn and only when hot, right?

Another way to describe the sound is almost like a bolt stripping from being torqued. It's a creak, but it also has a pulse to it, which is why I thought it was a shutter or rattle at first.

I'm not much of a mechanic yet, so I appreciate any help. One of the reasons I bought an older jeep was to learn more about maintenance and repair.

I'd say it's a spring or track bar bushing. Also may be the sway bar.

Sort of my thoughts too. Check around your rear shackle mounts and see if the frame is starting to waller out a bit. Jack up the back end and support with stands on the bumper or somewhere where the rear-end will droop and start checking any and all pivot points...
