I guess I will throw out a simple question to try to catch us up to the TJ's. I am looking for a set of Waggy 44's for my 87YJ, but in the mean time until I find the axles and the money to buy them I am thinking about 1 piece XJ axles for the front 30. When I do find the 44's I will rebuild and regear them before I put them in along with a spring over, so it will be a while for the $$$. Has anyone else thrown in the 1 piece Shafts? Is there anything I should be concerned about? I just bought a beater to get to work so the road manners are less of a concern now.

My totally unexpert opinion. I have thought alot before posting a reply. After careful deliberation, I say wait until you save up for the 44. Seems like double work.

Anyway, the YJ has, I believe, high pinion reverse cut gears. The XJ, to my knowledge, has the same. I'm thinking it should just bolt right in, paying mind to the gearing and all, of course.

Is there a problem with the stock 30? I think they are the same axle....

To all who serve, Thank You.

I've seen it done a few times. There are some seels you can get from Warn to do it. It means your front driveshaft will be spining all the time so you would wan't to make sure it is well balanced.
