dana 30 carrier removal

I've been at this since 11am and I can't get this carrier out. I've tried every tip I've found on the internet, I could use some advice. I have the 4.10 gears and I think that's why this is such a pia. My carrier is moving all over the place inside the housing, up, down, a little left a little right....but not OUT! I've tried sucking a rag behind it, I've tried using ratchet straps....I'm out of ideas......please help me

Have you considered removing the tie rod?

Is it even coming out far enough to hit the tie rod?

You do have your axle shafts out right?
Can you wiggle the pinion shaft to make sure that isn't what's holding you up?
Have you tried walking away for a break and coming back?
Typically that works for me...

If drive shaft is Dicows and the axles out, inter and outer on passenger side it shoul almost fall out.
Sounds like the inter axle is still in place.

Pry bar and rubber mallet. There is a video on youtube of installing a Aussie locker and the guy doing it had the same issue, it was tight. Pry bar behind and tap with the mallet. Be sure you're ready to catch it because when it comes lose it could try and take a bounce off the floor.

Got it figured out. I didn't know there was an inner axle shaft. A friend came over and got it out.

Honestly, I didn't pull it all the way out. I pulled it out just enough to clear the housing.....or so I thought lol. I wish I had pulled it out all the way and I wouldn't have wasted so much time and energy. Oh well, my first time doing anything more then brakes or an alternator and now I have a locker! Like you said, I'm learning.....owning a jeep is a constant learning process I'm finding out.
