decision is made

So after dilly dallying and planning ways to improve or replace my 4.2 in my 87 i am going another route completely.
I have several 5.3 vortecs with either 700r4 or the 4l60 auto to go with it. It will cost as much(almost to swap into a 4.0l) so why not put what should have been in the jeep to begin with!
There is tons of swap threads so i am pretty comfortable with the decision. major components are only 1400, tranny engine, and newer/newish np231.
I figure another 1900 for adapters/ford 8.8/fuel pump/wiring harness.
So im shooting for under 4k. I think i can do it.
What you guys think? Btw, this will be done this summer after i gut kitchen and redo, finish siding on addition, and finish all trim in the house........ and i work 90-120 hour weeks in the summer....

oilfield life sorta... about 3/4 of my work is for oil companies in various offshore fields from alaska to the gulf.
Yes coffee! I got on here and figured out that my jeep is over 25 years old so doesnt need emissions at all in alaska or washington(plan on moving back) so i can do whatever i want essentially. So its a fuel injected v8!
