Question disconecting shift leaver

can anyone tell me how to disconnect the shift leaver on a 1991 jeep wrangler 5 speed. It has the 2.5 motor and I am haveing to change the slave in the bell houseing and I have gotten everything un hooked except the shifter. 4x4 leaver came off no problem but man cannt get the other to give?

Not sure why this post was moved? I'm sure there's some YJ guys that can answer this question.

When I changed mine in a TJ I didn't have to remove the levers?
