DIY Safari Straps for YJ
I've wanted Safari Straps for a while now, but they don't don't make any for YJ so I've decided to make my own. For the next week or so I'm gunna be ordering the materials as follows:
2" polypropylene straps
1" polypropylene straps
3" metal o rings
1" metal cam buckles
I was able to find links from someone that made their own nets for their bar doors but I am going to be making the net for my cage.
Before I start making the straps, I would appreciate it if anyone who has safari straps could post pictures or provide any details that could help me make it similar to the original Safari Straps. I have some questions of my own for y'all as we'll.
I'm looking for 3" metal o rings but I'm actually not so sure that's what Safari straps use. So just how big are the o rings on the Safari Straps?
Also, the person that made the straps for his bar doors used a certain technique that resulted in a kind of double layer. So in what pattern or fashion are the straps in?
I will post the link to the thread of the DIY safari straps for bar doors. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated! This is my first project and I hope my fellow keepers on the forum will pull through and really help me out
