door handle linkage?

I recently got my dads jeep and the exterior passenfer side door handle.doesnt work but the interior one does i was wondering what the problem might be?

Your best bet is to remove the door trim panel and look. In my case, my handle was broken. Because I'm both cheap and creative, I was able to weld a piece of metal to it to make it work again. You can get trim removal tools at an auto parts store, it makes the job easier.

My guess would be the rod came off the latch or handle on the inside, either full doors or hard doors there is a rod that goes from the inside handle to the latch to open when pulled, I would also agree, remove panel and see if anything is off or broken.
