just use a hammer and bang on the drag link, if that does not work heat up the tie rod ie(the really long bar with the joint on the end). then give it a couple whacks. thats the way we do it at the shop. i am also doing my steerin today. so i know it works well. hammer away son!

i tap a pickle fork in to put some tension, then put a bfh on one side of pitman arm, and wail the other side with another bfh.

u actually will get it to drop out if you hit the part of the pitman arm that the tre goes into...the vibration will cause the tapered shaft to drop out....this trick works.....i have only had a puller out one time till i was taught this...and def dont use a pickle fork......same goes for gettting it out of the tie rod..hit the larger part of it with a hammer and once again the vibration will knock it loose.....u will be surprised

Those pullers are designed to separate the pitman arm from the steering box.
I believe he said he wants to separate the the centerlink (draglink) from the pitman arm.

Separating the drag link from the pitman arm...tried a two arm puller as the Haynes book mentioned with no luck. Started hitting the pitman arm with a hammer and it came right out. Excellent advice, thanks to the ones who suggested the hammer.
