First time Jeep Wrangler owner here needs a little help. The previous owner of my YJ had a fairly sloppy paint job done prior to selling it. I know there are the drain plugs/holes in each floorboard but near the back seat there appears as if there are 2 more plugs that have been painted over? Are these drain holes or something else? Thanks!
You can replace those floor plugs that are $5 each with 2 for $1 at Lowes. The Lowes plugs come in black or white, and you will need the 1 inch ones. I did a complete Hurculiner floor on my YJ eliminating the need for anything other than floor mats. I don't have any plugs in the front, so when I get it dirty, I just hose it down and it drains out. I constructed a water proof tarp for my dash so as not to soak it.
I will give those a try. At the bottom left hand side of the E-Bay page you posted there is a picture of the plugs I get from Lowe's. I keep extras on hand because when you need them out you will usually destroy them getting them out. No biggy when you only pay 2 for $1
Finally, I just figured out how to post an image. The cover below is what I do to protect my dash from being soaked when I hose my Jeep down. Jeep instrumentation is not the same as motorcycles or ATV's, those are sealed units and can take direct water.
Fyi they make a masking tape for just this purpose. It has a thin wire made into one edge to cut thru the liner as you remove it. I don't know what they call it or where you can buy it. But I have seen the bed line guys use it and it's nice.
I wish I would have known that when I taped mine off. It was a pain in the butt trying to peal it off carefully with a knife. Thanks for the tip, next time I'll know
I have gone on about 10 Jeep runs with mine since I did my floor, and I have gotten it filthy dirty. Get a bucket of soapy water, a scrub brush and get to it.
Once you experience how easily it cleans up you won't regret doing your floor. Worse case scenario, if you don't like it, you can always cover it with carpet again.
