Angry Drive Belt Snap #2

About a week ago I was driving home from my brothers and hurd a sounds almost like a coat hanger under the jeep. I soon found out it was my belt, and it had "snaped" in one part of it. Like almost took 1/4 of it long ways and stripped it. So okay, we went to the auto parts store to get a new belt, thinking this was going to be easy to fix, turns out we had to get it towed back home because the belt was so tight it wouldnt fit. Well with this jeep i dont know with others, has no so called "tentioner" for it, so it says that the alternator and the power strairing wheel is the "tentioner" of the jeep. So we put it on, still very very tight, and then i was driving it today and it broke the same way again. The belt was the same part number and everything as the other one. It did make a very high pitch winding nose before it broke, which i exprenced right before my frist one broke as well, so I knew that the belt was making it do that.

I guess what I am looking for is for someone to know what to do about this? Is there another belt out there? A brand name or something? Ill take pictures of the belt where it broke if I need to and the part number i have that matches up is:

5060710 its made by DAYCO ( poly cog )

1995 Jeep wrangler
manual
4x4 2.6L 4 cyl.
NO AC.

if you need anyother info let me know please.

One of your idler pulleys might be seized up and burning through the belts. I'd check them for broken bearings or being seized.

If the belt is too tight you need to loosen up on the power steering pump. There are 2-3 bolts that all need to be loosened so that the pump can turn down and up. Also, if the guys at the parts store are any smart, they can get you a belt that is longer. Try to get one a couple of inches longer.... like a 5060730.

Dayco 5060730 Effective Length 73.03" / Top Width .82" / Number of Ribs 6

Well on one of them, im guessing is the power stearing, to the far right topish if you look at it, has a "cut" all the way threw the lines in a kind of diagonal way. I'm not sure if it is supposed to be like that .. I will take a picture if you need it, but im just not sure if thats supposed to be like that.
