Drive Shaft Help

I have a 92 wrangler on a 3.5" lift and 33" tires. my jeep shakes every so often. my mechanic (who is not a jeep mechanic) said that i need a new drive shaft, to help with the greater distance and angle of the lift.

so my question is: what overall lenght and possibly brand of drive shaft would i need to make this a good fix and not shake... keep in mind this is my everyday car. im not looking for a super expensive product that is meant for rock crawlers.

thanks for the help,

Check to see if you have a tranfer case drop installed on your jeep. With a 3.5" lift you may be able to add a spacer between the skid plate and frame and reduce the drive shaft angle enough without the expense. To extend the drive shaft you will need to install a slip yoke eliminator first.

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

Even if you have the spacers shown above, you are really pushing it with 3.5" lift if you don't have a Slip-yoke Eliminator. It's likely your U-joints are going bad because of the drive shaft angle. You may want to consider a SYE kit in your near future. This would require a new custom made Drive shaft also.
