Drivers side door wont open....

Yeah.. something must have slipped off or something because the door will not open from the inside or the out.. very inconvenient. i tryed taking off the inside door handle but i dont know what to look for after i do that. Not to mention that the steering wheel prevents me from getting any good look at it.. suggestions? advice? anything would help! thanks!

I have the same issue ... pop off the large vinyl panel. You will see the lock mechanism in there (follow it to the lock rod, on the "index card" sized panel. The lock part is stuck in the lock position, it needs to be bumped a bit to get it all the way up, in the unlock position. Very quick repair. Once you get the door open, take the door off and pull out the latch mechanism inside. It comes off with a few torx bolts. Clean the sucker and lube with a good silicone spray. Should be good for a while. I end up doing mine once or twice per year to avoid the sticking. Pain in the ass but worth not getting locked in!

^ mine did that to. I had to open the inside, look down in there and move the lock to lock/unlock. Watch the rod that moves, and which direction when you push unlock. Then, get down in there and push it a little further to completely unlock it.

Then, don't lock the doors... as least thats my solution as I leave the jeep empty and don't have keys for my doors anyways lol.

I was thinking, if I used the locks I'd probably pull the entire door panel and put a return spring in there to help it pull back to unlock all the way. You may also get away with moving the striker down slightly but no so far where the door won't latch.

Everything that they already said REALLY WORKS! Don't lock the doors after you fix it!
