Dropping my transmission

1992 4.0 L6
I'll be dropping my transmission over the next couple of days to replace all the clutch components. (it's my first time).

Is it essential that I get a transmission jack, or will an extra set of hands be enough? Thoughts?

i heard that a motorcycle jack works great for tranny drops
