dumb questions about soft tops.

When i bought my jeep it had a hard top, Now its getting warmer and im thinking about getting a soft top. But then i realized i know nothing about them and there seems to be a million options... I just want something I can easily remove or roll up or whatever when its nice out. Do i keep my full doors or do i have to get soft doors? My jeep isnt my daily driver but it does go places. Im just lost and not sure what to get. Ive looked on craigslist but the prices are all over the places and online theres many different kits. Dont they just make some sort of cover that you just snap in place over the roll bars? Like whats with a soft cover frame? Simplicity is key here nothing fancy. Now that i think about it, i think ive got some frame and half doors for a soft top that came with the jeep but id have to dig outside for them, Id just keep the ful doors on anyway.

Several companies make frameless soft tops. Check out the usual places, Quadratec, 4 WP, etc to get a better idea of what you want.

thats what I was thinking. Wish there was something like a summer top that just snapped on to the top then 3 seperate window pieces for the rear windows. That way when i dont want them I can just unsnap them and roll them up and out of the way..simple and easy and cheap. Ill just look for a used soft top

Is there a bikini top with a windjammer that will cover the rear seat also?

I looked but couldnt really tell from the stock photos if it did or not. My high lift is on a backet flush with the rear with all my other recovery gear in it. All i want is something simple for when its parked and its raining that everything doest get wet inside. but most of the time itll be all open.

yea it turns them just fine, no highway speeds 55 is about all youre going to get with the 4cyl. Ive taken it on the highway to 60-65 and it just sounds dangerous haha. I thought about going down to 34x10.5 to see if it really made a difference but didnt bother. It would probably make a decent difference. If mine can turn 35x15s yours should be no problem

might look at a Safari top/duster deck cover and wrap around wind jammer-- that will almost seal the inside of the jeep. (standard jammer will let a Little bit of water in behind seats but not bad) But you could remove the safari top in like 2 minutes roll it and store under the deck/duster cover. If you use the back seats for passengers frequently, this probably not a good option.

got a picture? A wrap around jammer? So is that like a full brief top to cover the roof then something else that covers from door to door? Because actually that would be ideal. Honestly Id make something myself if i could. All i want is a two piece top that i could snap on to my roll bar...Im not looking for total weather protection just dont want rain pouring on the inside while its sitting outside it sees its fair share of water wheeling anyway.

Here are two of the pics that I have with the standard jammer and deck cover. You can just see the window behind the front seats. I don't have any with the full jammer on the Jeep yet-maybe in a couple weeks.

If you look on the Quadratec site you can see them better-look for the safari or bikini top. Safari covers the back seat area as well as the front. With a wrap around jammer on as well (that goes from the door surrounds and directly behind the seats) interior would stay dry except in the heaviest rains.

Feel free to Pm me any more questions as using the deck cover with wrap around jammer is a little bit of a trick
