I installed a High Energy Ignition Distributor (HEI Dizzy) on my 1988 YJ in the hopes of having faster starts, better ignition of the gas drawn into the carburetor, and higher output (combustion/rpm/torque/hp) Initially it worked really well. Then it started acting up, failing to start, failing while driving, etc. As I said, I did everything possible to stick with it before going to a high output coil (MSD Blaster II-45,000 volt output) and the old style points and condenser distributor. I went "old school" for the simplicity of it.
Hope that is clearer.
