Smile E- brake adjustment

Hello everyone,
I have a 1990 Wrangler YJ. My emergency break pedal was broken. I got a pedal from a junkyard. I bolted the new pedal into place and my question is how do you get enough slack on the cable to hook it to the groove on the pedal itself?

The easiest way to do this would be to completely take the adjustment nut off your old cable. Then, after you hook it in, adjust it out to where it needs to be. Just remember, not too tight, or the E-brake will always have tension on your back brakes, causing them to wear out faster.

If there's a will, usually there's a way, but then you get to that bolt that you still can't get to with two extensions, two universal sockets, and a contorsionist midget trying to help you.

1999 XJ Four door, mostly stock for now, but I am in the process of building a custom plate bumper.
