If one side is bad try looking at you local parts house and get both sides new rather than chasing the old one down. Do a soldered splice will last for ever and you can neatly tuck it back into the rest of the wire harness under the dash. On the plus side you can decide how much wire length you have for future access mine seem to be rather short.
