Post Engine knock

I have only had this wrangler since Feb this year and seems issues keep popping up,but first is finding out if this is common on wranglers, is the engine in a 2.5 always noisy from the lifters, from what I think it is coming from the topend it do have over 160k on it and is not a huge clicking noise, just at idle runs great while driving and idle just that question. Was told from a friend that they have long starts and do make noise in engine, this true?

I have a 1990 with the 4.2 and it also knocks around 2,000 rpms up to 2500. Been driving it for a long time never seems to get any worse. Guess I'll keep on jeepin.
Have a good one

I bought my '94 with 134000 miles on the clock. It had a slight lifter knock when I bought it. I changed the oil and now run Mobile 1 it and the engine hasn't made any irritating knocks or noises since. In fact...it runs SO much smoother since I made the switch.

That's what works for me...food for thought.
