engine to trans bolts

Have a 92 4.0 with ax15, have everything off the front ready to pull motor. How many bolts connect the engine to bellhousing? I don't wanna pull my tranny and case out, but wanted to make sure exactly how many bolts hold this thing on there so I don't wind up struggling with it since I don't have very good help.

If it is like my `88 4.2 it will have 4. 2at the top and 2 at the bottom on each side. the top 2 have a reverse torqux (spelling) that i ended up putting a 2 small holes in the trans hump so i could get to them. I did not pull my trans or tc.just did mine yesterday. Hope this helps.

"Weird Star thing" is a TORX head ......they are Internal(recessed into head kinda like allen head) and External(kinda like a hex head).

They make special "bits" to fit each type. Your local Sears/autozone/farm store should be able to supply.....but good quality.... they are a PITA........use Kroil or PB Blaster
