Finding a short

My son took the hard top off his 93 wrangler, and let it get rained on over night. Now we have no power to anything. Can anyone point me in the right direction to look for the short? It has the 2.5L. Thanks!

No power to anything. I would start at the battery to check if there is sufficient voltage. Then work towards the fuse box to see what voltage makes it there.

step 1. dry everything out.

Use compressed air behind the dash... leave it open, set a cpl fans up in there. I would guess your problem is behind the dash as the hood it always rained on lol. Also, UNHOOK the positive side of your battery until you get everything dry as a bone to prevent other damage.

First things first with electrical. Same as if you drop your cell phone in the water. Unhook the battery immediatly.

Well, you said that nothing in the jeep is working "no power to anything". If the radio got wet and somehow started to draw power from the battery even with the jeep ignition in the off position, then that may explain your statement. Disconnect the radio and see if the battery will hold a charge after drying out the jeep of course.
