are you sure your check engine light bulb isn't burned out, i think we went through this already though. you might have a check engine and emissions light. let me know, i can put the battery in that 90 at home and see which bulb it is if it has one.

Definitely not a burned bulb.I actually took the dash plate out and held a flashlight behind it(besides repalcing ALL the bulbs). There is the 2 signal lights an emissions light,4wd ,and the brake light. There isn't even a provision for it in the dash plate.HMM.

No.Never even atempted to pull codes with a scanner.I just startes getting everything squared away and when i replaced all the bulbs(just about all were burnt out)and the emissions light was on so i was guessing it was the equivalent to a check engine light. So i figured i would see what was inside so i can fix what's going on and then this is where i am.Jeep runs fine, just a little cold stumble at first and then t's all good.

Ok here we go.My buddy sent me some info. The emissions light is tripped by a timer to let you know when to change your 02 sensor(wether it needs it or not)There is a little gray box underneath the steering column,if you unplug it the light will go out.I'm gonna see if there is some way you can clear it.If not i'll pull the bulb.So i guess that explains the reason it runs fine.I tried battery disconnect but to no avail.Well it's an easy fix anyhow. Thanks .One more edit.I just found this info.I saw info on a 88 cherokee. They said on them it was a little black box by the steering column. There is no way to reset the light, you have to buy a new little box. So,it looks like the bulb is com'n out.

Just disconnect the timer. What happens if you fail the inspection because the check engine light didn't come on at startup?

That was the other option. It'll be awhile before i even get the jeep on the road.I'll probably try to push it through. If they gig me for no light then i guess i'll have to fixit.
