Frame Help?

The 5th gear in my YJ went out so I decided to replace it (which has turned into a lift, new tires, new wheels, rhino lined tub, paint job, etc.). However, the frame has been rusted pretty bad by where the cross member goes and I just wasnt' finacially able to buy a new frame right now so we welded new plates in the rusted area. We had to create access holes to be able to attach the cross member so now there are several square holes in the plates on the frame. It was suggested to put diamond plate panels over my frame so it doesn't look as awful from the outside. I'm not so sure I like this idea. Does anyone else have any other ideas or suggestions?

Its too bad you already did the repair. on ebay they offer a frame repair section for the YJ transfer skidplate area. for just under $200. pricey but worth it, with the nuts already inside,

did you weld the nuts inplace and then weld in patches for the 6 holes,

No, thick u-shaped metal plates were welded to secure the frame. Holes were then drilled into the plates for the cross member to attach.
