Hate to burst your bubble but that's about as fast as you're getting with that vehicle. I have the same thing, 31s, and I've topped out at about 75 but you just have to time the shifts right. Up hill go 4th and straight aways and down hill hit 5th and give her hell lol

I have no issues now maintaining 75 with the top on. Topless it struggles over 70. 2.5 5spd and 31" tires.

I haven't tried yet but I'm pretty sure my 2.5 on 33's with 4.56 will hit 80. 60 is no problem. I can cruise at 65 easily.

Have to ask, why 4.56 gears and not 4.88? Everyone says to get 4.88 gears , I have no clew I do a lot of highway and it's my DD and trail rig

I bought the axle with them installed, super 35 kit and Detroit locker. I paid $400. It was a steal IMO.

I was keeping up with bay area traffic , so 80-85 in 4th with 4.10s and 35s with top on. Top off I usually cruise 70 or so.

I think he is better off with the 4.56s over 4.88. And I would say 4.56 is lowest you should go on a d30. That gives you a 9 tooth pinion. Have you seen the 8 tooth pinion on a set of 4.88s? It looks like a speedo gear.

Man with my 4.2 on the floor flat ground in 5th gear with 33s I'd be lucky if I get past 65!

When I use my wrangler to drive to work instead of the DD I am on the highway almost the entire way and its up and down as well. Going up hills is the main problem but I can usually maintain 60-65 no problem as long as I am in 4th. On flat or downhill I use 5th and can get to 80 but I don't push it more than that.

I am curious as to what kind of mpg y'all are getting when you're cruising at 70?
I just took a road trip and got 22-23 mpg while cruising at 55-60. Stock everything, 2.5l and 30" tires.

I went camping last year and it's almost all highways and I was getting 22-23mpg w/ 2" lift and 30's in a 2.5L 5spd. Usually get 17 city, however lately I've been getting 10-14 maybe due to cold weather, and I'd baby it when I first got it.

At 65 I get 18. 75 is a bit lower at 16.

Yeah I got 4in lift with 1in shackels and I had 33's but need to save gas, but the tires I had were heavy, how about your gas mileage with those 32's I love a wide tire they make YJ's look so bad ass

90 TBI 2.5L
33's
5speed AX5
Stock gears (4:10)
Full hard top and doors

I ignore 5th, use 4th and 3rd

I hit 75 regularly on the freeway, but hills are a BIG obstacle, I can maintain 65-70 on a decent hill, but people are passing me, occasionally honking...

Without the top or doors I keep it at or under 65, saves gas....
